How to set Shopify Markets Compare At price

Managing Shopify international product pricing can be a complex task for Shopify merchants. For international markets, Shopify Admin does not even have an interface to add or edit compare-at prices, and the only option is to do it via CSV export.

This is where the Mixtable Spreadsheet Editor app comes in handy to simplify this process by allowing you to view and edit Shopify Markets Compare At Price in bulk. Functioning like Excel while running in your browser, Mixtable is a practical tool for businesses operating in multiple Shopify markets. And best of all, syncing back the changes to Shopify is done with just one click!

This guide will discuss how Mixtable can help you set Compare At Prices for your products when selling them in Shopify’s international markets.

Note: Markets can only be created within Shopify, not Mixtable. After you’ve created a market, you can edit individual Compare At Prices in that market from Mixtable.

Note: You can set a Compare-At Price for a variant only if that variant also has a fixed international price established for the same market.

Add Shopify Markets Compare At price in a spreadsheet column for Product Variants

First, install the Mixtable Spreadsheet Editor app and launch a Products - Complete (with Variants) worksheet in your Mixtable workbook. Then, to add a column showing the Compare At prices for a Shopify market, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Products - Complete (with Variants) worksheet in Mixtable
  2. Right-click on the header of a column that isn’t yet mapped for syncing (these columns have a grey background, while columns set for data syncing have a light green background)
  3. When you right-click, a context menu will appear. Choose the Shopify Sync Settings option.
  4. Select the International Market Prices option. You’ll now see a dropdown listing the markets you have defined in Shopify. Select the one whose prices you’d like to load into the column.
  5. In the Select data for selected market dropdown, select Compare At Price
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for each market you wish to edit.

Set a Compare At Price for a Variant for a given Shopify Market

After creating columns for each market’s Compare At Price, you can set this price for your selected variants.

  1. To do this, enter the desired price directly into the corresponding cell in the respective market’s column.

Note: The currency symbol in the cell must be the symbol of the currency specified for the market (e.g., EUR).

  1. After making your changes, start the sync, and Mixtable will set the Compare At Price for the given variant.

Remove Compare At Prices for a Market

  1. If you need to remove a Compare At Price for a Shopify market, simply clear the cell’s value containing the Compare At Price by pressing Backspace/Delete, for example.
  2. Then, start a sync from Mixtable to Shopify, and we’ll remove the Compare At Price value for the variants whose cells you modified.

International Price Updates from Shopify to Mixtable

There may be instances when you need to synchronize international market Compare At Prices from Shopify to Mixtable. Regrettably, automatic updates from Shopify to Mixtable are unavailable due to the absence of a mechanism in Shopify to notify Mixtable of changes. In this case, you must manually initiate the synchronization.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the header of a column displaying international prices for the desired market
  2. Choose Shopify Sync Settings from the context menu that appears
  3. A dialog box will open, presenting a button to synchronize the international Compare At Prices for the market with Mixtable.
  4. Click on this button, and Mixtable will initiate the data download process, eventually displaying the updated information in the worksheet.
