How to set Shopify Markets Compare At price

Managing Shopify international product pricing can be a complex task for Shopify merchants. For international markets, Shopify Admin does not even have an interface to add or edit compare-at prices, and the only option is to do it via CSV export.

This guide will discuss how Mixtable can help you set Compare At Prices for your products when selling them in Shopify’s international markets.

Add Shopify Markets Compare At price in a spreadsheet column for Product Variants

First, install the Mixtable Spreadsheet Editor app and launch a Products (with variants) worksheet in your Mixtable spreadsheet. Then, to add a column showing the Compare At prices for a Shopify market, follow these steps:

1. Open your Products (with variants) worksheet in Mixtable
2. Click ＋ Shopify data in the header row of an empty column, or choose Column > Add Shopify data… from the menu bar. The field picker opens and asks What should column E show?, with your column’s letter in place of E
3. Click Pricing in the list of sections on the left. Under Market prices, you’ll see a row for each of the markets you have defined in Shopify, such as Price in France. Click the one whose prices you’d like to load into the column. If a market you added recently is missing, click Refresh in the Pricing heading
4. Under Which price?, choose Compare-at price, then click Save Column
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each market you wish to edit

To put the column in a particular spot, insert an empty column there first: right-click the letter of the column it should go before and choose Insert column to the left. The new column gets its own ＋ Shopify data button to click in step 2.

Set a Compare At Price for a Variant for a given Shopify Market

After creating columns for each market’s Compare At Price, you can set this price for your selected variants.

1. To do this, enter the desired price directly into the corresponding cell in the respective market’s column
2. After making your changes, click Preview at the top right of the spreadsheet to review them, then click Sync. Mixtable will set the Compare At Price for the given variant

Remove Compare At Prices for a Market

1. If you need to remove a Compare At Price for a Shopify market, simply clear the cell’s value containing the Compare At Price by pressing Backspace/Delete, for example
2. Then click Preview at the top right of the spreadsheet, followed by Sync, and we’ll remove the Compare At Price value for the variants whose cells you cleared. Their fixed prices stay as they are

Mixtable keeps a history of market Compare At prices while a worksheet shows them, so after a sale ends you can still check what each one was. Right-click a cell in the column and choose View cell history. See market price history.

International Price Updates from Shopify to Mixtable

Changes to your Markets themselves come into Mixtable on their own, and Mixtable refreshes their prices at the same time. A price that changes outside of Mixtable is different, for example a fixed price you edit in the Shopify admin or by CSV import: Shopify does not notify Mixtable, so automatic updates are not available for international market Compare At Prices.

Shopify doesn't send changes to market prices on its own, so download them when you need the latest. Click Download latest in the sync control at the top right of the spreadsheet (or choose Shopify Sync > Sync with Shopify…) to open the sync card. Under Download latest from Shopify, click Download next to Market & B2B prices.

The Market & B2B prices download appears on any worksheet with at least one market price column, and it updates the Compare At Price cells too.
