Use Rich Text Editor (WYSIWYG) to Edit Shopify Product Descriptions

Shopify stores product descriptions in HTML format. This allows you to have the product description text in bold, italic, of different sizes, and more.

With the Mixtable Spreadsheet app you can bulk edit the HTML of your descriptions directly by mapping your product descriptions to a column in your worksheet. But if you are not an HTML wizard, you can use the rich text editor built into Mixtable’s sidebar to add formatting to your descriptions in a “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) way.

Step 1: Load Shopify product description data in a worksheet

To use the rich text editor, you need to load product information, e.g., Products (with variants) or Products (without variants) worksheets. Here you can learn how to add a new worksheet to a Mixtable workbook.

Step 2: Use the Sidebar option to launch the Rich Text Editor

Select the row for which product you’d like to perform edits, and open the Mixtable sidebar.

This will populate the sidebar with the information of the product, which row you’ve selected. You’ll see the rich text entry box, along with buttons for the various formatting options you can use.

Step 3: Make changes in the product description

Use the WYSIWYG rich text editor to make edits - anything from changing the headings, adding links and listings, even managing images.
